This is a wonderful, erudite and classy CD, reflecting the huge range of interest and competence by one of Ireland most talented young singers.

Silver Sea conjures visions of beauty and tranquility, which the voice of Meav delivers. Méav opens the CD with John Spillane’s excellent song "You Brought Me Up." It is a tale based on the myth of the selkie where a seal comes ashore and lives as a human, but eventually returns to the sea. Meav's clear, cool voice is perfect for the song and the theme. This is a musical treasure of an album.

Uplifting and delightfully serene.

Her sound is pure and transparent - its powerful innocence could stop a barroom brawl cold. Her siren-like performance of Edvard Grieg's "Solvieg's Song," set among hushed tiptoes of strings and harp, is absolutely riveting. In "She Moved through the Fair," "I’m A Doun," and the drone-driven "Sí do Mhaimeó," Irish drums and chanting male voices create a hot-blooded contrast to Méav's lyric descant. Each song -whether lullaby, lament, or love song -- is in a perfect setting, like a fine gem. Méav's vocal purity will keep luring you back for more.

Méav's tones ring with bell-like clarity, and she seems to effortlessly unspool sound. Particularly lovely are renditions of the opening theme from the film Rob Roy, the Celtic traditional "She Moved Through the Fair," and "One I Love," a largely a cappella number that'll give you goose bumps.

Adds delicious wriggles to her renditions of traditional tunes.

A remarkably fine singer… her flawless technique makes the most technically difficult passages sound ridiculously easy and natural… utterly beautiful… entirely free of sentimentality and all the more powerful because of it
Alex Moffat, Irish Music Magazine
Her presentation was coolly elegant, and her voice remarkably pure. She sang with a subtle, underlying passion
